I came back from vacation with way too many photos and finally sat down to pick some for Instagram. Naturally, the ones where I actually look good are the ones with random people walking through the background, somebody’s bag on the ground, a trash can next to me, or half of someone’s arm sticking into the frame. The cleaner shots are somehow the ones where I hate how I look. What do you girls use to remove people and random stuff from photos without making the picture look weird?

Of course the best photo has to come with some stranger standing three feet behind you like he was invited into the shoot. For little things like that, I’d start with Magic Eraser in Google Photos. It’s pretty handy for people in the background, signs, bags, and other small stuff that’s not covering half the picture. I’d try it on a copy first though, because busy backgrounds can sometimes come out a little strange.

And once you start cleaning up one photo, you suddenly notice five more things you want gone from the next one. At that point I’d rather open one editor and fix everything there than keep jumping between different little tools on my phone.
